Some useful AIEEE Preparation Tips

Some useful AIEEE Preparation Tips

AIEEE is one of the reputed engineering exams of the country. The exam was first time conducted in the year 2001. In last ten years this exam has turned up as one of the prestigious engineering entrance exam of the country. All the aspiring candidates who want to secure a seat in one of the top IITs or NITs must take this test. The pattern of the exam is objective type. The exam is divided into two different section for BE/B. Tech courses and for B.Arch/B. Planning courses. Some of the important aspects of preparing for the exam involve the following points:
  • There are number of sites available who offers free online test, one can visit those sites and practice their online papers to enhance their knowledge, accuracy and speed. But it is really important to find the right kind of the site to practice.
  • Time is really an important factor in this exam. It is really important to divide your time well for each question and section, while preparing for the exam. Try to solve all the question half hour before the available time; while practicing the practice papers try to finish the paper within two and half hour, so in remaining time you can revise and cross check your answers.
  • If you are stuck up with a question then leave the question and move on to the next question. But, make sure that you are giving attempt to all the left out questions before submitting your paper.
  • Try to practice the sample question in the same format as they are asked in the original question paper; the shading part of the question paper. This could be done only through imagination, but this will help you a lot and decrease your pressure on the actual exam day. Practicing these exam papers would make you familiar to such pattern and concepts and make you comfortable to the same.
  • Focus on the logics of concepts, rather memorising the formulas and procedures. Try to develop your own methods to solve the problems; this will develop confidence.
  • Try group discussion with your friends and classmates, this will always build up your confidence level and it will expose you to other alternatives and methodologies to solve the paper.
  • Always concentrate on your speed, as this is very important factor for this test. Analyze the different categories of possible questions and plan a suitable strategy to solve each one of them.
  • Solve previous year papers; it will help you a lot during the preparation. It will also give you a clear idea about what types of questions are asked in the exam. Try to solve the maximum number of previous year papers, because there must be some questions which are repeated over the years.
  • Consult the solution, only when you have tried enough to solve the particular problem and have exhausted your limits. Try to find out what step you have missed while solving the problem.
  • Avoid the use of calculator while preparing for the AIEEE exam. Being adept in mental calculations can actually increase your speed.
  • Select your questions wisely. About 25% questions in the examination paper are easy, 60% are average and 25% are difficult. Try to attempt all the easy questions first. The cut-off for AIEEE exam is generally around 60% to 70%. So if you have solved all easy and average questions and some of the difficult question then your chances to get through the exam will be really high.
  • 'Think out of the Box' concept helps in segmenting the entire preparation process. It also increases the focus of concentration; in case of admissions and in case of architectural and planning admissions, it compares the student's AIEEE aptitude marks first and followed by the mathematics marks and their ages
