Body found by Devon fire crews in Meadow Park Lodge blaze

 

The cause of the blaze is currently unknown

 

A body has been found by firefighters in North Devon tackling a blaze in a Grade II listed building.

Crews were called to the fire at Meadow Park Lodge, in Filleigh, near South Molton, at about 02:30 BST.
The fire service said one body had been found and it was trying to establish if any other bodies were inside.

The fire crews are damping down the building, which is the main gatehouse of the Castle Hill Estate. At its peak the blaze was tackled by three crews.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the building was unsafe and the cause of the blaze was currently unknown.
